Is Generic Avodart better than Generic Propecia?. Currently Avodart is still awaiting approval by the FDA for the treatment of male pattern baldness (MPB). • No long-term ( > 2 years) clinical trials have directly compared the efficacy and safeaty of dutasteride and finasteride. Withoug such trials, conclusions regarding the relative efficacy and safety of one agent over the other may not be made.
